Active Janus Droplet as a Micro‐Reactor for Automatic DNA/RNA Precipitation and Extraction

نویسندگان

چکیده

We explore the possibility to precipitate and extract DNA, or RNA using an active water/ethanol Janus droplet. The droplet is initially formed by a single made of mixture in oil/surfactant solution. This self-propels absorbs surfactant molecules, advection, while moving oily phase. absorption leads phase separation formation water-rich leading ethanol-rich trailing employ this method RNA, DNA/RNA mixtures independently, automatic manner. precipitation extraction achieved tuning their water solubility with addition salt then it demonstrated fluorescence.

Novel Parallelized Electroporation by Electrostatic Manipulation of a Water-in-Oil Droplet as a Microreactor.

Electroporation is the most widely used transfection method for delivery of cell-impermeable molecules into cells. We developed a novel gene transfection method, water-in-oil (W/O) droplet electroporation, using dielectric oil and an aqueous droplet containing mammalian cells and transgene DNA. When a liquid droplet suspended between a pair of electrodes in dielectric oil is exposed to a DC ele...

the effect of lexical and grammatical collocation instruction through input flooding versus awareness raising on short-term and delayed retention as well a active use

this study attempted to explore if teaching english collocations through two different modes of awareness-raising and input flooding has any possible differential effect on immediate retention as well as retention in a delayed assessment. it also compared the possible differential effect of teaching english collocations implicitly and explicitly on actively using the items in writing. m...

Janus Green Dye as a New Reagent for Catalytic Kinetic Determination of Zirconium in Ceramic Materials

A new catalytic kinetic spectrophotometric procedure for determination of trace quantities of zirconium was proposed. Janus Green was oxidized by potassium bromate and zirconium catalyst which then converted to a colorless product in acidic media. Reaction rate was monitored spectrophotometrically at 606 nm. It relies on the linear relationship between the absorbance difference (ΔAt) and Zr(IV)...

passivity in waiting for godot and endgame: a psychoanalytic reading

this study intends to investigate samuel beckett’s waiting for godot and endgame under the lacanian psychoanalysis. it begins by explaining the most important concepts of lacanian psychoanalysis. the beckettian characters are studied regarding their state of unconscious, and not the state of consciousness as is common in most beckett studies. according to lacan, language plays the sole role in ...

Droplet and Fluid Gating by Biomimetic Janus Membranes

© 2014 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim 6023 wileyonlinelibrary.com Our work is inspired by passive transport across cell membranes, which offer an intriguing example of regulating membrane permeability based on transmembrane hydrophilic/hydrophobic interactions. [ 10 ] The cell membrane has a lipid bilayer structure consisting of hydrophilic phosphate outer layers and hydrophobic hyd...
